With the launch of Deal Week, users can earn cashback in-store using PayPal’s contactless mobile wallet available now at thousands of locations nationwide, reports PayPal. It’s part of a broader push to make offline payments smarter and more rewarding.

In-store cashback with PayPal Deal Week

Since June 2nd, 2025, PayPal Deal Week is live across Germany, offering shoppers up to 10% cashback on in-store purchases. Participating retailers include Peek & Cloppenburg Düsseldorf, DEICHMANN, OBI, XXXLutz, ANSON’S, and CinemaxX. Depending on the day and brand, customers can earn cashback ranging from 3% to 10%, with daily limits of up to €60.

These offers are not one-time promotions—they repeat weekly, allowing regular customers to save hundreds of euros each month by paying contactless in-store via the PayPal app.

Contactless mobile wallet now nationwide

The launch of PayPal Deal Week coincides with the rollout of PayPal’s first-ever contactless mobile wallet, now available across Germany—before any other country. Over 1 million users have already activated this new feature in the updated PayPal app on iOS and Android.

Consumers can now pay with a tap at any location accepting Mastercard contactless payments, including approximately 2,000 participating Deal Week partner stores. Once activated in the app, cashback rewards apply automatically, making in-store purchases more rewarding than ever.

Flexible installments with Ratenzahlung To Go

Adding to its in-store innovations, PayPal has introduced Ratenzahlung To Go, a feature that lets users split in-store payments into 3, 6, 12, or 24-month installments. The process is quick and fully integrated within the PayPal app. This builds on the success of PayPal’s online Pay Later options and provides even more payment flexibility for customers at the point of sale.

A new era for in-store payments in Germany

“We are determined to show Germany there’s a better way to pay in-store,” said Joerg Kablitz, Managing Director for Germany, Austria & Switzerland at PayPal. “With contactless payments, installment options, and cashback through PayPal Deal Week, we’re offering a smarter and more rewarding alternative to cash.”

This marks PayPal’s largest-ever investment in Germany, and early adoption rates suggest a turning point in consumer behavior toward cashless shopping.
