The rollout has been in the works for months, with TikTok reportedly inviting merchants as early as August to prepare for the launch in Spain, according to the South China Morning Post. While the Spanish service remains invite-only for now, established businesses in Spain can begin signing up starting in February, as noted on TikTok’s website.

In Ireland, although initially invite-only, TikTok has confirmed that Irish merchants are now eligible to register and start selling on the platform immediately.

Expansion plans for Europe

TikTok is also planning to expand its shopping services to other European countries, including France, Germany, and Italy. However, further details regarding these launches have yet to be disclosed.

The introduction of TikTok Shop in Spain and Ireland marks a significant step in TikTok’s efforts to integrate social media with e-commerce, providing new opportunities for businesses and creators to engage with their audiences.
