Buy Car Parts and Book a Workshop in One Go on eBay

eBay offers a new solution where buyers of vehicle parts can book a workshop service at a nearby specialized garage directly online. Users can compare prices for parts and services with just a few clicks.

Before booking, the total amount for the selected item and its installation at the chosen workshop is displayed, and payment for both is processed directly on the platform. Additionally, users can see at a glance when the next service appointment is available. The offering covers a wide range of parts categories, from headlights and brakes to engine parts and suspension components.

As a partner, eBay has teamed up with the workshop portal repareo. This includes both independent businesses and well-known repair chains, brand-specific workshops, and dealerships. The goal is to offer 80 percent of users in Germany a workshop within less than 10 kilometers. The independent portal allows its customers to thoroughly review the upcoming work and, after a price comparison on eBay, directly book an appointment online with the chosen workshop.

Booking parts and service conveniently without leaving the website

What’s more, customers can buy the part and book the installation in one transaction without leaving the website. The ordered parts are delivered directly to the chosen workshop. Currently, the selection includes new parts, including complete repair kits (for example, for brakes).

To ensure parts fit, the search is done through the parts finder: users enter their vehicle details, such as make, model, and year. For even more accuracy, users can input the HSN and TSN numbers (manufacturer key number/type key number) from the vehicle registration. After that, eBay only shows parts that fit the entered vehicle.

Additionally, eBay offers the Vehicle Parts Promise: If a part doesn’t fit, despite being listed as compatible, returns are free within 30 days of receipt, and customers receive a refund. The eBay Vehicle Parts Promise currently covers a wide range of items, from brake pads to windshield wipers and spark plugs. Tires and complete wheels are currently excluded from the promise, but the green checkmark still lets users know that the desired products are compatible with their vehicle.
