E-commerce Berlin Expo 2025: two days that defined the future of e-commerce

That’s a wrap on E-commerce Berlin Expo 2025 – an event full of industry-leading insights, high-energy networking, and cutting-edge innovations. With an expanded format, hundreds of speakers, thousands of attendees, and the prestigious E-commerce Germany Awards Gala in between, it delivered everything the industry needed to stay ahead in 2025 and beyond.

Missed it? Here’s what happened – and why you won’t want to miss the next edition.

The biggest edition to date

This time the Expo lasted two days for the first time ever! It helped us make everything bigger and better than ever before. This year E-commerce Berlin Expo had a record-breaking attendance of 12,000 participants. This included nearly 300 service providers from the DACH region and beyond, and over 150 speakers who delivered insightful presentations. Talk about interesting and diverse crowd!

Grand Opening like never before

It was also the first time when the Expo was visited by a well-known politician. Franziska Giffey, Berlin’s State Senator for Economy, Energy, and Enterprise, came to make a welcome speech to all participants, talked about strentgenthing ties between the city of Berlin and our event, and also announced that the next edition will take place at a prestigious new location – Messe Berlin!

Right after, Efe von Thenen, Chairman of the Advisory Board of E-commerce Berlin Expo, hit the stage with an unmissable deep dive into the ‘State of German E-commerce 2025’. Hope you were there to hear it, the insights were certainly note-worthy!

Hundreds of exhibitors from all over the world

This year the Expo had almost 300 hundreds exhibitors from the Dach region and 30 international markets! They were showing the latest solutions in e-commerce, with focus on the most innovative ones! 

Among them we had eBay, Sage, Kaufland Global Marketplace, Amazon Freight, Riverty, JTL-Software, DOOFINDER, Descartes Systems, Smarketer, solution25 and many others!

Innovation, strategy & industry giants on stage

The Expo floor buzzed with conversations about AI, automation, platform scalability, and new ways to drive e-commerce success. Across five stages, industry leaders shared insights on strategies and execution. For example, attendees could listen to:

🔹 IKEA’s Farzin Saber explored AI-powered project management

🔹 Google’s Heidi Menz & Sandra Pfeifer discussed how to prepare for the future with less 3P cookies

🔹TikTok’s Nele Odzuck & Deloitte’s Samy El-Menshawy showed our audience  how  to drive, scale, and measure true performance on TikTok.

🔹Microsoft Advertising’s Stephanie Boedige shared how AI is reshaping the advertising landscape and what Microsoft Advertising is building to drive more conversions

🔹 Philips’ Serkan Otles dove into how AI is redefining modern e-commerce.

🔹 Amazon Freight’s Tim Ludwicki shared strategies for real-time tracking and data-driven supply chain optimization.

And that was just the beginning. From luxury retail trends to the future of omnichannel commerce, the Expo was packed with strategies that brands can apply right now to gain a competitive edge.

Panels: the industry’s biggest debates

Unscripted, high-energy, and filled with real-world insights, the four expert panels sparked some of the most talked-about discussions at EBE2025.

🧠 Four perspectives on AI in digital commerce – Meta, OTTO, Glambou and e-commerce expert Veronica Demschik discussed different perspectives on AI in digital commerce, giving clear recommendation for action.

💡 The superfan revolution: community management as a growth lever for e-commerce brands – Zooplus,  MissPompadour and Kandu revealed how community-driven brands turn customers into die-hard advocates who actively shape brand success.

📊 Strategies for profitable DTC growth – optimized warehouse logistics and data transparency as a formula for success by Sugarshape and United Brands Group – SugarShape, United Brands Group, Descartes and minubo shared how efficient warehouse logistics and KPIs promote sustainable success in the DTC sector.

🎮 The Future of E-Commerce – Where Gaming, Immersive Tech, and AI Collide – Industry leaders from Arvato Systems, Beiersdorf, and Tabbler explored what role gaming, immersive tech and AI will have in e-commerce.

Masterclasses: hands-on learning from the best

The Masterclasses took learning to the next level, giving attendees exclusive access to experts who broke down real-world strategies in e-commerce marketing, logistics, and AI.

🔹 Kaufland Global Marketplaces’ Miroslava Biresova told participants how they can sell quickly and easily on five international online marketplaces with Kaufland Global Marketplace. She also shared why Kaufland marketplaces should not be missing in their expansion strategy.

🔹 Optimizely’s Daniel Hikel explained how AI and personalization optimize the deliverability of email campaigns to generate more revenue. Participants learned actionable best practices for perfect email deliverability that will no doubt take their reach and success to the next level.

🔹 Brevo’s Patrick Brück & Sarah Yates  showed how one can significantly increase customer lifetime value (CLV) through a precise omnichannel strategy. The focus was on the challenge of effectively harnessing data and transforming it into personalized marketing activities.

Strongest media network ever with over 60 industry partners

This year the Expo gained the support of over 60 industry partners who helped us promote the event among their audiences! There are too many of them to name everyone, but we are thankful to all of them for their support and engagement for all our event. Our most esteemed partners included IAB Europe, HDE, bevh, BDOA, ECDB, Bundesverband IT-Mittelstand e.V. (BITMi), Casaleggio Associati – just to name a few! Our event certainly wouldn’t be the same without them all.

E-commerce Germany Awards 2025: a night of celebration & connections

Between Day 1 and Day 2, the industry gathered for a night dedicated to celebrating excellence in e-commerce innovation at the E-commerce Germany Awards Gala.

  • 12 categories, 120 finalists, 24,000 public votes – the competition was fierce.
  • The jury of industry leaders evaluated the finalists, recognizing the most innovative e-commerce solutions of the year.
  • Beyond the awards, the networking was… unmatched. Deals were made, partnerships were formed, and some of the biggest industry conversations happened over dinner and drinks.

For many attendees, the EGA wasn’t just an awards night – it was a strategic business opportunity.
