The E-commerce Berlin Expo 2025 is just around the corner, promising to be one of the key events in the e-commerce industry. With over 290 exhibitors and thousands of visitors expected, the expo will be packed with opportunities to discover the latest innovations, trends, and strategies shaping the future of digital commerce.
But before the event itself, there’s a crucial stage of preparation that sets the tone: the Call for Speakers contest.
Shaping the Conversation: The Call for Speakers Contest
The Call for Speakers contest is more than just a highlight of the Expo; it’s a unique opportunity for the e-commerce community to influence the discussions that matter most. By submitting topics they want to explore on stage, professionals from across the industry – whether they run successful online stores, offer cutting-edge services, or tackle key market challenges – can contribute to the conversation.
Through a blend of public voting and a professional jury (Advisory Board) evaluation, we empower the community to prioritize the pressing questions and topics that need addressing in today’s fast-changing landscape. Once the public voting period concludes, the top finalists from each category are announced based on the votes received.
Record-breaking Edition
This year, we achieved remarkable milestones, breaking records with a staggering 646 submissions from talented individuals eager to share their insights. The enthusiasm didn’t stop there; we also witnessed an impressive 24,017 votes cast during the public voting period!
This overwhelming level of participation not only reflects the community’s eagerness to engage but also highlights the importance of the topics presented. It shows that the e-commerce industry is not just active but thriving, with a diverse range of voices contributing to the conversation. The breadth of ideas submitted indicates a deep commitment to addressing the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, making this year’s contest a true celebration of innovation and collaboration within our vibrant community.

What Happens Next?
Now that the finalists have been announced, the next step in the process lies with our Advisory Board, a panel of 30+ seasoned industry experts. Over the next week, they will dive deep into finalists’ submissions, evaluating it based on criteria like originality, relevance, and the potential value it can bring to our audience. Their task is to ensure the chosen presentations not only reflect the public’s interests but also bring fresh, actionable insights to the stage.
The Advisory Board will select one winner per category, ensuring that each presentation embodies the best of what the e-commerce community has to offer.
Wildcard Selection Track
This year, we’ve also introduced a Wildcard Selection Track which allows the Advisory Board to include 20 additional speakers whose ideas may not have gained enough votes to make it to the final round, but still offer highly valuable perspectives. This ensures that we don’t miss out on groundbreaking insights that could spark important discussions at the E-commerce Berlin Expo.
October 30: Winners Announcement
The final results will be announced on October 30, 2024, revealing the speakers who will take the stage in February 2025 and help shape the conversation at one of the most important e-commerce events in Europe.
We’re thrilled to see what the winners will bring to the table, and we can’t wait to share their expertise with our audience. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the big event!
