Uber launches same-day delivery service “Uber Courier” across major German cities

Uber introduces “Uber Courier” in Germany, on-demand same-day delivery for personal items and local business needs.

Need to get a forgotten phone across town, deliver a last-minute gift, or send tools to a friend? Uber’s new “Uber Courier” service has you covered. Now available in nine major German cities, this same-day delivery option brings the speed and simplicity of Uber to personal item delivery—making life easier for busy individuals and local businesses alike.

Uber has officially launched Uber Courier in Germany, a new same-day delivery service designed to meet the fast-paced needs of modern life. Available now in Berlin, Cologne, Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, Stuttgart, and Mannheim, this new offering allows users to send personal items quickly, affordably, and seamlessly within the Uber app.

“Our goal is to make people’s everyday lives easier,” said Christoph Weigler, Uber’s Germany CEO. “With Uber Courier, we provide a hassle-free way to get personal items from A to B, while also supporting local businesses with quick intra-city deliveries.”

A flexible delivery option built on experience

Leveraging its extensive logistics network, Uber Courier uses the same trusted delivery partners behind Uber Eats and ride-hailing services. Deliveries are made by bicycle or car depending on size and distance, with package limits set at 20 kg per item, or 60 kg total—all needing to fit within a mid-size car’s trunk.

Pricing is transparent and calculated upfront in the app, based on travel time and distance, eliminating guesswork and hidden fees.

Ideal for individuals and small businesses

Uber Courier is designed with flexibility in mind:

  • Forget your keys? Have them sent home securely.
  • Sending a gift? Get it delivered that same day.
  • Running a small shop? Use it to fulfill local customer orders instantly.

This new option empowers local entrepreneurs by offering a fast and cost-effective shipping method, helping them stay competitive without needing their own delivery infrastructure.

How Uber Courier works

Using Uber Courier is simple and user-friendly:

  • Package securely: Ensure items are packed in a sealed bag or box.
  • Open the Uber App: Enter the destination.
  • Choose “Uber Courier”: Select this as your delivery option.
  • Confirm pickup & drop-off: Indicate who’s sending and receiving.

Users get real-time notifications, including pickup confirmations and delivery progress, ensuring full visibility from start to finish.

Meeting a real need in Germany

According to Uber’s own data (Lost & Found Index 2025), 1 in 4 Germans misplace essential items like phones or keys at least once a month. Uber Courier directly addresses this widespread issue by offering a quick, dependable way to recover or deliver those items without the need for a personal trip.
