New ways in sports merchandising – FanCommerce Forum

On November 23 and 24, top decision-makers from sports and the industry will meet to discuss recent developments in merchandising & licensing, e-commerce and the sporting goods industry.

Hamburg – The FanCommerce Forum will be held as part of the Merchandising Trade Fair at the Volkspark Stadium in Hamburg for the very first time. The programme includes discussions about the latest technological achievements and further, the question how e-commerce of the future might look like will be addressed. One of the main topics will also be the role of sustainability in merchandising.

Sustainable ideas in merchandising

The importance of sustainability is increasing in both the sports industry and in the consumer world. More and more consumers are willing to pay more for products and services if they know that their buying behaviour has a positive social or environmental impact. Moreover, companies recognize the benefits of sustainable business practices and invest large sums in research and development. Sophia Trotno from Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein, Alexander Timm, head of merchandising from 1. FC St. Pauli, Stefan Wagner from TSG Hoffenheim and Tobias Naumann from Block Voice will be among those discussing the demands on merchandising.

New merchandising trends in sports

The future of e-commerce is often associated with automation, bots and software. Yet, merchandising needs a combination of innovative offerings as well as the interface of technology and people. The forum will show past achievements in merchandising through artificial intelligence. In addition, visionary Marcus Diekmann will present revealing insights into his omnichannel strategy and will provide answers on any questions. Although football dominates within the sports merchandising market, the forum will also take a closer look at trends in basketball and ice hockey.
