DHL Express is investing over 100 million euros in transport and handling capacities in the fourth quarter.
DHL Express is investing over €100 million in the fourth quarter of 2024 to boost its transport and handling capacity, preparing for high demand during the year-end peak season, informs the company. To meet growing customer needs, the company will add eight new Boeing 777 freighters, expanding its air freight capacity and enhancing its global parcel sorting and delivery network.
CEO John Pearson said DHL is focused on being a reliable partner during the busy season, offering flexible services and digital tools to help businesses adapt to changing demand. The company expects strong growth in express services driven by e-commerce, which is projected to rise by 8.8% in 2024.
In addition to growing its fleet, DHL is investing in its ground network with expanded sorting hubs in key cities like Cologne, Paris, and Atlanta. The company is also committed to sustainability, using more energy-efficient aircraft and offering customers carbon-reduction options through its GoGreen Plus program.
E-commerce remains a key driver for DHL, especially on intercontinental routes between Asia, Europe, and the Americas, as the sector continues to grow despite global challenges.
